Claire Sangster

Upon opening the door at Rotary House, Claire Sangster is often the first person to greet you. After the initial meeting, you will come away with a sense of Claire’s strong desire for independence and her positive spirit. Upon further involvement, you will get to know her dry sense of humor, sometimes flavored with a hint of sarcasm, but always delivered with a smile and good intentions. Staff seem to be the target of choice! Claire’s vibrant personality is evident in her sense of fashion, as she sports the latest trends and colors. Those same colors and vibrancy are then carried into her artwork. Claire’s paintings are well known in the Pictou County area where she and her family enjoy cottage life each summer. (And yes, she loves telling staff about her time on the beach while they are at work on the hot days!) You can also find some of Claire’s artwork showcased in the children’s novel Guided By the Light of the Moon. Somehow Claire manages to fit some time in with us here at STEPs on Arthur, having been a participant since 2016. As you can tell by this short bio, Claire brings a lot of light to our organization, and we miss her greatly when she takes her summer hiatus.
