Client Admissions

Are you interested in applying for services at STEPs? If so, you can download the application forms or drop into see us at Rotary House to pick up a package. You can also call ahead to the Rotary House Operations Manager (902-893-7228 Ext. 118) and arrange for a tour of our facilities.

Once your completed package has been returned, it will go before the Admissions Committee for review. It is very helpful if we can meet you in advance to allow us to have a better understanding of your support needs and interests.

If there are no concerns or additional information to be gathered, your name will go on a waitlist and you will be contacted at a later date to come in for a two-week (65 hr) assessment. A Client Policy Package will be provided to you at that time, or earlier if requested.

During the assessment, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and activities, allowing you to meet the program instructors and clients already in service. At the end of your assessment, you will meet with the Operations Manager for a discussion about what kind of a daily/weekly schedule will be of most benefit to you.

If you have any questions throughout the process, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help you.

“Before moving to Truro, I needed to know my family - especially my two loved ones with intellectual disabilities - would find a place to belong. When I discovered STEPs on Arthur, I was struck by the warmth and purpose behind its work. My daughter has found friendship, purpose, and a community that truly values her. And I believe STEPs is better for having her, just as she is better for having them.”
