Jamie Dunbar
Jamie Dunbar is a long time participant at STEPs on Arthur, coming to us back in 1989 as a young man, not long out of high school. He has experienced many life changes during the years, moving from his home, to a supported living environment. He has participated in multiple program changes and watched clients and staff, come and go, throughout the years. When Jamie first started at STEPs, he was very quiet and preferred working alone. Today, he is much more interactive, enjoying the camaraderie of the participants in the Cleaning/Maintenance program and having his one on one chats with the staff. These discussions often involve suggestions as to which staff he believes should be fired on a given day! He will then be teasing and tormenting that same person an hour later.
Jamie takes great pride in his responsibilities and it is paying off. Literally! Jamie is looking forward to an opportunity for employment in the coming weeks, facilitated through funding provided by the Neil Squires Society. Congratulations Jamie. We know that you will do a great job!
